Meet Henry Egbe
I'm Henry Egbe, a multidisciplinary creative expressing my work through design, art, and photography.
My path started during undergraduate studies in Visual Arts, where I was exposed to a wide range of creative expression: textile prints, painting, ceramics, sculpture, and graphic design. That early exposure shaped how I think about creativity today, as a set of tools I move between depending on what an idea requires. While graphic design has become my primary discipline, my practice has never stayed confined to a screen. It spans branding and visual identity, art direction, print design, photography, and increasingly, exhibition-based work.
Design Practice
On the design side, I've led creative and brand work for organizations like Jobberman Nigeria and The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), where I oversaw campaigns, events, and visual strategy across multiple touchpoints. Before that, I worked on visual identities and campaigns for brands including Ecobank, CHI Limited (producers of Hollandia Evap), FirstBank, Africa Prudential, Hillside University of Science and Technology, Hygeia HMO, and Farmkart. The work has taught me how to build identities that are sharp, credible, and culturally grounded, drawing on design strategy as much as intuition.

Art and Exhibition Practice
More recently, I staged METAMORPH, a two-day multidisciplinary solo exhibition in Lagos featuring abstract ink works, photography, and wearable art. It was one of the clearest expressions yet of where my practice is headed: art and design in genuine conversation with each other. This shift has been important to me because it's allowed me to explore how my different creative languages can coexist and inform each other, rather than compartmentalize them.

Photography for me is less about technical mastery and more about curiosity. I'm drawn to built environments, everyday life, and the moments that sit between intention and accident. Through the lens, I'm exploring how light, texture, and composition tell stories that feel authentic and unforced. It's a constant practice of seeing, of noticing what exists around me. Photography feeds my design work and my art practice, and in many ways, it's become the thread that connects everything I do. I think of it as both a discipline and a conversation with the world around me.

This journey is less about narrowing my practice into a single discipline and more about expanding the way I think, make, and solve problems. I'm particularly interested in exploring how design, art, technology, and interaction can come together to create experiences that are not only visually compelling but meaningful, accessible, and useful. This research-oriented phase is shaping how I approach both client work and personal projects.
